Health and Safety Protections for Conference Attendees

We are excited to be able to get back together in person for the 2024 Textbook & Academic Authoring Conference – our first in person meeting since 2019!

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases such as colds or influenza, it is TAA’s policy that if you are experiencing symptoms (such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, and/or diarrhea), you may not attend conference activities. Anyone visibly sick will be asked to leave the conference.

Most conference sessions will be recorded and made available as on-demand recordings post-conference. These on-demand sessions are included in your registration. In the event you have traveled to the conference and were not able to attend the conference due to illness, you will be refunded 50% of your conference fee.

Each attendee or guest who enters the TAA meeting space during our Conference is agreeing to recognize that there is some health risk inherent in attending this public meeting, and that the attendee accepts the risk and assumes the responsibility and will not hold TAA responsible in the event they contract any disease. You are also agreeing to follow the health safety policy that TAA has developed for the Conference, and that even though this policy is in place, you may contract COVID or other communicable illnesses such as influenza, either at the Conference or elsewhere in or around the venue, and accept the risk and assume full responsibility for any health or economic consequences that may result from your participation in the 2024 Conference. You are also agreeing to indemnify TAA against any financial liability in the event that you or any of your relatives or colleagues contract COVID or other illnesses, whether it can be traced to your participation in the Conference or not.
