This guide provides details on the preparation, planning, writing, and publication of an open textbook as well as the importance of editing and proofreading, Copyright, open copyright licenses, and the differences between citation and attribution are discussed.

Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) is a growing consortium of community and technical colleges committed to expanding access to education and increasing student success through adoption of open educational policy, practices, and resources.

Coalition of Open Access Policy Institutions (COAPI) brings together representatives from North American universities, colleges, and research institutions with established faculty open access policies and those in the process of developing such policies.

Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) open to all publishers who publish academic, peer reviewed books in Open Access and should contain as many books as possible, provided that these publications are in Open Access and meet academic standards.
