Win Awards
Five Holt, Rinehart
and Winston textbooks were recognized by the New York Bookbinders Guild
in an annual contest that recognizes excellence in book production.
HOLT CHEMISTRY and HOLT ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE received first and third
place in the High School Book category; HOLT BIOLOGY and HOLT BIOLOGY,
TEXAS EDITION, won first and second place in the High School Book Cover
category; and ELEMENTS OF LITERATURE, Grades 6-12, won second place
in the High School Cover category for a textbook series.

Textbook Rental
Bill Passes First Hurdle
A bill introduced
by Assemblyman Paul Koretz that urges public colleges and universities
to set up textbook rental services has passed the California Assembly.
The bill will now head to the Senate.
