Q: "Does anyone have access to the Nielsen BookScan database of book sales figures?"

"My understanding, from when I worked inhouse, is that this is an expensive subscription-based service that is hard to obtain, even for those publishers who don't pay for the service. Not sure if this info is correct, but I'd be surprised if you could get free access to this."

A: Neil J. Salkind, Ph.D., Agent, StudioB:

"It's easy to obtain, but very expensive and focuses much more on trade than textbooks. There's a separate service for texts."
