"You
are generally free to place a link in your webpage or CD to a third
party website, but there are some potentially troublesome things to
avoid. Beware of deep links, framed links, and links that falsely
suggest an affiliation with or endorsement by the site to which you
are linking. Deep links are links into web pages that aren't made
available to the public without stepping through preliminary screens
that may contain important notices, disclaimers or advertising. Framed
links are links that pull the content from a third party website into
a frame in your web page so that it may appear to an unsophisticated
user that the content is being served by you. Finally, you should
avoid using the third party's logos, designs, or stylized word marks
as buttons or links because to do so might lead the user to infer
incorrectly that your connection to the site is by permission or through
an affiliation with that linked site."
