Text and Academic Authors will return to the Big Easy, New Orleans, for its June 2000 convention, the TAA Council decided. Le Pavillon Hotel, site of the association's 1993 convention, was chosen. Mike Sullivan, who scouted hotels in Washington, San Antonio and New Orleans, said the Pavillion recently received recognition as a Preferred Hotel. Yes, tuxedoed waiters still serve peanut-butter sandwiches on silver trays at 11 nightly. Rooms will be $99. Dates: June 21-25, with the TAA Council meeting and workshops ahead of the actual Friday-Saturday convention.
