Developing Electronic Materials: Preparing an Animation CD-ROM to Accompany Your Textbook
Presenter: Robert W. Christopherson, Professor Emeritus of Geography, American River College, and the author of numerous CD-ROM products that are shipped in his texts, which include Geosystems, Applied Physical Geography and Elemental Geosystems.

Friday, June 22
4:15 - 5:15 p.m.

Preliminary conference schedule

Robert Christopherson will show you how to prepare animations and references to accompany your books. His latest disk contains 67 animations, satellite images, video clips, photo galleries, map references, and self-tests—all with custom navigation device. He shows how to do scripts and story boards to guide the animators, the animations themselves through developmental phases, and the sequences—basically, the entire process including shooting the DVI-HD video clips in the field for use on the CD and how to simply edit for presentation.

About the Presenter:

Robert W. Christopherson is Professor Emeritus of Geography at American River College, and the author of the leading physical geography texts in the US and Canada: Geosystems 6/E, Elemental Geosystems 5/E, Geosystems Canadian Edition, and Applied Physical Geography, 6/E, all published by Pearson Prentice Hall. He attended Cal State University-Chico, and Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. His first textbook was published in 1992. He has spoken across the US and Canada to hundreds of colleges, groups, and at professional meetings. He and his nature photographer wife have completed eight polar expeditions since September 2003 to gather information and photos for his textbooks.
