Elements of
a Successful Peer Review Process Saturday, June 23 An essential element for ensuring quality in academic publications is the process of peer reviewer. The peer review process requires the careful articulation of the mission, goals and standards for the specific publication and an understanding of the key elements in the process by those asked to serve as a reviewer. This program will focus on the key elements an editor and a reviewer need to consider during the peer review process to ensure continued excellence in academic publications. About the presenter: Dr. Gayle A. Brazeau is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. She has been active on committees and in leadership roles in professional, educational and scientific organizations. Dr. Brazeau serves on several editorial advisory boards for scientific and educational journals. She has been the recipient of teaching and student awards at the University at Buffalo, University of Florida and the University of Houston. She has served on FDA, USP and SBIR/STTR NIH committees and panels. Her research interests focus on understanding the biochemical and toxicological interactions of compounds or excipients with skeletal muscle following parenteral or systemic administration and the optimization of intramuscular formulations with reduced muscle damage. She also investigates disease associated muscle damage. She is the author or co-author on over 35 publications. |
