Conference Field Trips for Attendees and Family Members

We've planned the following field trips for attendees' families to enjoy during the day on Friday and Saturday. Conference attendees are also welcome.

Buffalo, NY Waterfront Tour
Friday, June 22
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Meet in the hotel lobby and walk as a group, guided by TAA member and Buffalo local Paul Penner, to the waterfront where you will tour The Lighthouse Observation Tower, The Erie Canal Terminus, and The Naval Park, and have a take-out lunch at the Hatch Restaurant on picnic tables. The waterfront area you will travel to is at the conjunction of the former terminus of the Erie Canal (which is in the process of being restored), the Buffalo River and the Buffalo Harbor. The river is lined with grain elevators, some abandoned and some working. The various ships in the Naval Park are moored in the river alongside the quay. Further out is the Small Boat Harbor with the Hatch restaurant and the Lighthouse Observation Tower is at the end, all within short walking distance. The quay is finished off with grass and flower beds. This is the noon gathering place for many people who work downtown.

On Walt's death in 1966, it was Roy, who had been President of the company, who took the reigns as Chairman. Later, Roy's son Roy E. Disney would become chairman.
Here, in 1958, it is Roy who signs yet another mortgage.
